8 Pickleball Courts in Los Angeles We're Dying to Check Out

Looking for the best pickleball courts in Los Angeles? Whether you're after a buzzy new venue, a low-key local park, or a pro-level club, LA has something for every kind of player. Here's our list of 8 top spots that have caught our attention lately. Some we’ve played at, some we’re planning to hit next.

PIKL – Mid-Wilshire

A brand-new outdoor venue that blends sleek, modern design with a playful, social club vibe. Think upscale hangout meets pickleball paradise.

  • Location: 639 S La Brea Ave, Los Angeles
  • Type: Outdoor / Open Play + Reservations / Memberships
  • Why it’s on our radar: It’s LA’s newest outdoor pickleball spot with 6 dedicated courts, open play sessions, and a clean aesthetic that’s pure social media gold. If you want a stylish spot to get your game on (or just look like you did), this is it.

PowerPlay Pickleball – Carson

This one feels like the full-on pickleball experience.

  • Location: 19401 S Main St, Carson
  • Type: Indoor + Outdoor / Club Style
  • What we found out: 10 indoor courts, 26 outdoor courts, a pro shop, and even an on-site recovery center. It’s a membership model, but they offer drop-ins and open play. Players online rave about the vibe and facilities. This place is serious about pickleball.

Tarzana Recreation Center – Tarzana

Classic, community-driven, and free.

  • Location: 5655 Vanalden Ave, Tarzana
  • Type: Indoor (hybrid gym space). BYOP and Net
  • Why it made the list: It’s a low-key favorite for locals, and free is hard to argue with. Players mention good lighting and friendly vibes. You might need to bring your own net, so check ahead.

Santa Monica Pickleball Center – Santa Monica

Beachside pickleball with retail perks.

  • Location: Downtown Santa Monica (behind Pickleball Mania)
  • Type: Outdoor / Reservations
  • What makes it cool: A handful of bookable courts tucked behind a retail shop. It’s like a mini pickleball playground for gearheads and players alike. Book ahead, especially on weekends.

Wolf & Bear Pickleball – Van Nuys

A premium indoor option for players who like a little exclusivity.

  • Location: 14933 Calvert Street, Van Nuys
  • Type: Indoor + Reservation Required
  • What we’ve seen: This is a more private, boutique-style pickleball club with 4 indoor courts and a clean, modern setup. Think sleek, intimate, and less crowded.

Plummer Park – West Hollywood

One of the most social courts in the city.

  • Location: 7377 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood
  • Type: Outdoor
  • Why it stands out: Reviews call this the friendliest scene in town. Whether you’re new to the game or want to meet your next doubles partner, this is a great drop-in spot. Plus, the WeHo pickleball community is super welcoming.

The Paseo Club – Valencia

A club worth checking out!

  • Location: 27650 Dickason Drive, Valencia
  • Type: Outdoor / Private Club with 11 lighted courts
  • Worth a look: If you’re looking for more than just a court, this one’s got the full club experience; clinics, leagues, social events, and post-play hangouts on the patio. The pickleball community here is active and friendly, and the courts are pristine. Membership is required, but part of our PB Haus crew says it's definitely worthwhile for the frequency they are there playing pickleball!

LA Pickle Club – Westchester

Beginner-friendly and organized.

  • Location: 7000 W Manchester Ave, Westchester
  • Type: Outdoor
  • Why we’re into it: This group runs clinics, offers coaching, and seems especially friendly to newer players. Great if you’re looking to get better with a bit of structure, and maybe make a few friends along the way.

A Few Things to Know Before You Go

  • Booking in advance is a must at most of the more popular courts.
  • Bring your own paddle and balls just in case. Need gear? Check out our post on the 5 must-have pickleball items!
  • Check for open play times or leagues if you’re looking to meet people.
  • Follow local rules. Some spots require reservations, others are first-come, first-served.
